A huge cannabis farm was found inside a Kensington residence immediately after a man ran from police in the location.
Officers functioning on Operation Target, which attempts to disrupt critical violent crime , had been carrying out patrols at about 9.30pm on Birstall Road .
A man was observed leaving a residence on the road prior to he ran from the street, later becoming caught by police in the back garden of a residence on Clearwater Close.
He was searched by officers who identified a modest quantity of cannabis .
Police then carried out a search of the residence he was observed coming out of and identified about 287 cannabis plants , with a prospective annual worth of £1.two million.
A 30-year-old man from Walton was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and production of cannabis and taken to a police station for questioning.
Matt Brown, head of Merseyside Police’s Cannabis Dismantling Group , stated: “It is pleasing to see a cannabis farm of such a huge scale identified and taken apart, following some exceptional function by our Operation Target officers.
“The prospective danger of operating such a set-up is substantial, each in terms of fire, flood and attracting critical and organised crime and violence to the location.
