Nevada regulators launched an investigation into cannabis testing labs right after tainted marijuana batches triggered two wellness advisories.
The Las Vegas Overview-Journal reported the Division of Taxation began the investigation right after discovering potentially doctored THC levels by cannabis laboratories and solutions with higher levels of yeast and mold on shop shelves.
Division officials say marijuana solutions should be tested by state-licensed labs for potency, yeast, mold, pesticides, heavy metals and other toxins just before becoming sold in dispensaries.
Officials say solutions from the identical cultivators had been tainted and found on shelves sold involving July 10 and Aug. 28 at Acres Health-related, The Apothecary Shoppe and Blackjack Collective.
Officials say mold exposure can lead to stuffy nose, wheezing and itchy eyes or skin.
