Residence Judiciary Chair reiterates commitment to marijuana banking reform



The chair of the Residence Judiciary panel mentioned he is committed to functioning to advance a complete marijuana bill which includes social and criminal justice provisions.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat from New York, created the statement on the eve of a scheduled complete Residence vote on a cannabis banking bill referred to as the Protected Banking Act.

His committee tweeted that he will vote for the Protected Banking Act, as it addresses “one of the quite a few critical troubles that final results from the criminalization of marijuana at the federal level.”

He added he plans for his committee to vote on his a lot more complete reform bill, the Marijuana Chance Reinvestment and Expungement (Extra) Act of 2019.

Numerous civil rights groups final week requested a delay in the vote for the Protected Banking Act, till a a lot more “holistic” cannabis bill is thought of.

They see Protected Banking Act as mostly benefiting the cannabis market.
