WARREN, Mich. – A lengthy legal battle in Warren more than health-related marijuana seems to be more than immediately after a judge awarded 15 dispensaries licenses to operate in the city.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding how these 15 dispensaries have been selected. 3 of seven Warren City Council members have been on a committee that reviewed and ranked applicants, that all took spot behind closed doors.
“You had members make the score and vote on it with the majority to have the final selection,” Travis Copenhaver with the Cannabis Legal Group mentioned.
The course of action was so contentious a Macomb County judge had to spot a short-term injunction. It was lifted Tuesday, paving the way for a final vote.
The leading 15 organizations got the green light Tuesday, shutting out dozens of other folks.
“We knew it would be a competitive merit-primarily based course of action, what we did not know was the course of action would not be fair. Nearly predetermined,” Mike Bahoura, who was denied a marijuana license, mentioned.
