Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, October 1, 2020:
A small area of low pressure will spin past the region today, bringing mixed skies and a few showers.
A shower cannot be ruled out at any time of the day, but the best chance for rain will come in the mid and late afternoon hours. Showers will be scattered but could have some brief downpours.
Outside of the showers, skies will be a mix of sunnier periods and cloudier ones.
Morning winds will be from the southwest around 10 mph. Afternoon winds will turn more westerly and decrease to around 5 mph. Peak gusts, coming in the morning, will be around 25 mph.
High temperatures this afternoon will be similar to yesterday, topping out around 60 degrees.
Skies may clear for a time tonight, allowing temperatures to fall back into the 40s. Clouds should build back in after midnight, preventing temperatures from falling too far.
