10 Great New Movies Heading To Netflix This Weekend

Yesterday, a whole new slate of movies was added to our favorite streaming services: Netflix

NFLX
, Amazon Prime

AMZN
, Hulu, HBO Max, etc. And while several of those platforms are sprinkling in a few more movies this weekend, only one of them is giving us a bunch of brand new options.

In addition to the dozens of new movies Netflix added in October, the world’s most viral streaming service will be adding ten additional movies this weekend—and almost all of them are 2020 releases. Several of those movies are Netflix Originals, with a few more intriguing options mixed in.

So what new movies can you look to watch this weekend on Netflix? Here’s every one of them:

Vampires vs. the Bronx

Monster movies have seemingly started to fall by the wayside—except on Netflix. In addition to Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie heist film Army of the Dead, Netflix is adding another original movie called Vampires vs. the Bronx—a horror/comedy in which teenagers go to war with a band of vampires.

Vampires vs. the Bronx will be available to stream on Netflix on October 2.

Colombiana will be available to stream on Netflix on October 4.

Oloture

Before 2020, you wouldn’t have had many chances to watch a film out of Nollywood—Nigeria’s growing film industry that’s has started to make a name for itself. But Netflix has added several Nigerian films to its slate this year, including Oloture. The film follows a journalist who decides to go undercover as a prostitute to expose human trafficking.

Oloture will be available to stream on Netflix on October 2.

David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet

David Attenborough is of course known for his voiceover work on the Planet Earth film series. But this documentary gets much more up close and personal with the man who has visited every continent on the planet and has witnessed humanity’s impact on nature firsthand.

A Chaste Marriage

Surely you’ve seen many romantic comedies. But now many of those movies have come out of Germany? I’m guessing…not many. Well, this weekend is your chance to change that. A Chaste Marriage follows a man who is being forced to marry his childhood friend—despite being in love with someone else.

Serious Men

Based on the book of the same name, Serious Men is a brand new dark comedy from Indian director Sudhir Mishra. The film centers a low-class family whose patriarch decides to capitalize on his son’s newfound fame as a boy-genius.

The Binding

Despite their seeming decrease in popularity, paranormal horror movies continue to flood the movie market. Netflix’s weekend slate of movies continues to travel around the world with You’ve Got This—a Mexican film from director Salvador Espinosa.
