Happy Friday, indeed.
The Patriots returned all negative results in their latest round of COVID-19 testing, per multiple reports. The team has worked remotely for two straight days and intends to conduct virtual meetings again on Friday, with the hope of practicing for the first time Saturday. Pats coach Bill Belichick shut down all football operations at Gillette Stadium immediately after cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive late Tuesday night.
On Thursday, the NFL pushed the Patriots’ upcoming home game against Denver back to Monday at 5:05 p.m. The postponement provides a crucial extra day for the Pats, who cannot reasonably assume Gilmore did not spread the virus to any teammates or coaches until they see negative tests results Sunday and Monday morning.
Kickoff had originally been scheduled for 4:25 p.m. Sunday.
